Spam Campaigns Use Microsoft Logos
Spam campaigns have been taken to the next level with the use of company logos, it has been alleged.

According to Trend Micro, emails have been sent that appear to be legitimate as they use trusted company logos, but may contain malicious software, reported SC Magazine.
Anti-spam researcher at Trend Micro Maria Alarcon commented: "Relying again on the popularity of these two said companies and using what would at first look like Microsoft/Trend Micro-related content […] spammers should be able to fool some recipients into actually downloading and installing the attachment."
She pointed out that one example of an email to Latin American users contained both logos and urged the recipient to download an attached file to protect themselves from malicious attacks.
Last week, it was revealed that some users of social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, had their passwords and information stolen by spammers.
